Woven Abstractions
Hundreds of individual cotton strings, loosely twisted, form the rope featured in the Flourish series. Dupioni silk is an additional feature in some. Each piece is framed in ambrosia maple, walnut or poplar, the frame doing double-duty as a loom. The warp "string” is woven through the sides of the frame and held under tension, setting the stage for the cotton rope and silk to be tightly and randomly woven and knotted along its surface.
